MMCS/MCCC Newsletter (November, 2009)
With
2009 holiday season right around the corner, MCCC leadership team and MMCS
school board would like to thank you for your service
in making us a stronger community in serving
members and community through Chinese language education, cultural outreach,
and social engagement. You made it possible to wrap up another very
successful year for our community.
Thanks go to our capable
teachers, talented students, and our dedicated parents. We owe a great deal of
gratitude to Marquette University for providing us with classrooms. Special appreciation
goes to our devoted school board members for their leadership and service by
hundreds of hours and our parents for their contribution in parents-on-duty.
Thanks to hundreds of volunteers at the Holiday Folk
Fair, Chinese New Year @ the Domes, and other MCCC organized events. We have
just concluded 2009 MCCC at Holiday Folk Fair and we have broken our 2008
record. Congratulations to our team leaders and many thanks to all the volunteers.
Special thanks go to those who have volunteered for multiple shifts. You are
the heart and soul of our community!
Our sincere thanks also go to organizations for your
generous support. Your sponsorship enabled us to provide better service to our
community.

2009 Holiday Folk Fair was a big
SUCCESS! Mr. Zhenjiang Sun, the MCCC at HFF General Chair,
would like to thank all of the hardworking volunteers for your dedication
to have another safe, successful, and rewarding Holiday Folk Fair. The
Chairs of Exhibition, Art, Market, and Food booths also said thanks to all of

MCCC
was awarded $1000 grant from Northwestern Mutual
Foundation on behalf of Bei Wang, a
Northwestern Mutual employee and supporter of the MCCC. The grant is part of
the company’s Day of Sharing program,
which presents grants on behalf of nominating employees during the month of
November. Please see the attached release from Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
The Chinese New
Year at the Domes Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th
(9am-6pm), 2010. The domes are located on 524 S. Layton Blvd. Milwaukee, WI,
53215. As always, there will be Music
& Dance, Arts & Crafts, Chinese Calligraphy, Marketplace, Traditional
Chinese Treats, and an Evening Light Show. Children's Activities include the
Dragon Parade, Dumpling Making, Souvenirs.
MCCC’s 2010 Chinese
New Year Celebration has been scheduled on Saturday, February
13th, 2010. This year's
event will be held at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, located at 4257 N.
100th Street. More details to follow.
Ginseng sale sponsored by the Song and Dance Troupe. Holiday season is coming and the troupe needs to raise
fund for activities, costumes, equipment, trips, etc. We need your support. You know there are a
lots of ginseng farmer in the Wausau area whom grow world best ginsengs. The
ginsengs we have are dried (harvested this year) and direct ordered from those
famers. The sale prices (about ½ off the retail price) for MCCC members are:
Medium long roots---$50/ lb
Medium short roots---$55/ lb
Large short roots---$70/ lb
None-separated (mixed)-$35/ lb
Large fibers ---$18/lb

Supermarket: There is a new Chinese grocery store on
108th and Oklahoma Street. The address is 10706 W. Oklahoma Ave.
West Allis, WI 53227. It is called Mei Hua Market; it is opened from 7 days a
week from 9 a.m to 8 p.m.
H1N1:
Just in case you are not aware, local counties or cities will have free H1N1
Influenza Vaccine for residents, starting this week. Because of the supply
limitation, different cities may have different arrangement. Please check your
local health department for details.
