The MMCS Annual Event
“Meet the Seniors” will be held on 5/17/2009. Once again, a group of high
school seniors of MMCS families is heading to college. The students are all
outstanding with their own unique way. They are invited to this MMCS annual
event and talk to our parents and younger students to share their thoughts and
experience in the college selection and application process. A question and
answer session will follow, as usual.
MMCS /MCCC joined together with Milwaukee
Public School offering a
Chinese Language and Culture Summer Day Camp at the Riverside University High School for August 3-7. This
program is composed of a wide range of learning activities in a fun environment
with experienced bilingual teachers.
Daily Chinese classes include basic listening, reading, speaking and writing; Art
classes include Calligraphy, Brush Painting, and Origami; Students will be
introduced Chinese history, culture, people, places, and events; Other fun
activities include Kung Fu, movies and cartoons from China;
Students can also enjoy indoor swimming at the pool.
Age: 6 to 12 years
old
Fees: $150
Time: 9am to 4pm
Camp capacity: 20 - 40

MMCS will host the end of school year
annual summer picnic on 6/13/2009 at Greenfield Park
(124th and Greenfield Ave )
Site 3B, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Buffet lunch will be served: barbeque, pizza,
and Chinese style side items. All MMCS/MCCC members and families are invited.
The event is also open to families and friends from Cricket Academy
and ACSE.

MCCC
adult and children’s dance group participated in MATC’s Asian Awareness Week on
April 28-29. There was also a culture booth at the event sponsored by MMCS.
This was a great success showing our culture to the MATC community.
The Holiday Folk Fair International is seeking two youth
leaders from each of its ethnic communities to participate in the CIOFF USA
Youth Commission. The Holiday Folk Fair International youth are invited to
join the Commission.
The Objectives of CIOFF Youth Commission:
- To
promote the knowledge, the safeguard and the dissemination
of the world’s traditional cultures.
- To
enrich the cultural and artistic content and the quality of the world’s
festivals.
- To
encourage cultural exchanges and to serve the cause of peace.
- To
bring young people closer to traditional folklore and culture.
- To
allow young people to develop and realize their own projects
- To
prepare to take responsibilities in the future.
There will be a North American meeting in Toronto , Canada .
The Canadian youth will meet the weekend of May 23-24. A representative is
invited to join us here as well.
Summer
travel opportunity is available for youth from July 17-29, 2009. The students will spend 2 days in Beijing ,
10 days in Liaocheng and trips to nearby cities with other students from Israel , Poland ,
Italy , Turkey , Germany ,
and China .
They will participate in intercultural games and student presentations. Cost
will be approximately $1200. There will be an information session on Tuesday,
