MCCC had the second successful and cheerful
Chinese New Year celebration at the Domes on January
24, 2009. The celebration
was running through 9am to 7 p.m. Events include a dragon parade,
music and crafts, Chinese calligraphy, a lantern show, presentations on
holistic and alternative medicines, Chinese language lessons and
dumpling-making for kids. The event ended with a light show. The Domes has a new record 3,700 visitors in one day. To

In order for everyone to have enjoyable night, the New Year Party organizers would like to ask your help ensuring the following party guidelines are
adhered to:
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes earlier to allow adequate
time for registration.
- Children under 6 years old must be supervised by adults at all
times, staying with the parents or designated guardians.
- No foods or drinks are allowed in the theater. No Exceptions.
- Please do not touch any equipment on the stage or
backstage
- No running around at any time please.
- When the program is in session, please ensure no running,
walking, chatting, or standing in the hallway.
- Videotaping or picture taking can only be done from the seat.
For the afternoon performance by the
MMCS students, each teacher please make sure you have enough volunteering
parents to help you maintain the order of the class. The front seats will
be reserved for our performing students and teachers and other guests,
all others please respect the signs and do not take the reserved
seats.
Registration
for the 2nd (2009 spring) Semester of MMCS classes has started. Please
register at http://www.mmcsweb.com. The last chance for 2009 spring semester registration
will be next Saturday, 02/07, at CNY party registration desk. You will be
charged $10 late fee if you register after 2/7.
The GO and Chinese Instrument classes will be
opened this Sunday, Feb. 8. Students will need to pay $35 for the class.
2008 MCCC Outstanding
Achievement Award to young leaders goes to
Sam Tang, David Liu, Steve Sun, Hanzhe Gao, Franklin Zhu, Connie
Wu, Tong Wang, Kevin Guo, Daniel Lee, Yani Zhang, Katy Jiang, and Jerry Mao.
2009 MMCS Spring Festival Trivia Contest - In order to promote the parents and students interested in student
performance, MMCS Education Committee will hold a special 2009 Spring Festival Trivia Contest for the students with prizes. Please click the link http://www.mmcsweb.com/main/docs/2009NYPQuiz.pdf
for the questions. Parents are welcome
to discuss with your kids and help them to fill the answer sheet. Please turn
in the answers to the teacher on 2/8 or 2/15. The schools will reward the
top three students in each class.
The Worldwide Chinese
Students Essay Contest is calling for submission. MMCS Education Committee
would like to encourage all of our students to participate in this
event. Please turn in the essay to the class teacher no
later than Feb.20th. The class
teacher will be your adviser and help on your essay detail. Please check

Chinese New Year Gala
Party of Great Milwaukee Area was held by ACSE, MCCC, OCA and CSSA of MCW, MU,
UWM on Jan.31th.2009 from 5-9pm.
The "Taste for
Chinese New Year" was held by Chinese Community at Barnes and Noble from 7-9pm on
January 16th, 2009. The event is held in honor of the Milwaukee Chinese
Historical Society to celebrate Chinese New Year and create awareness of
Chinese culture in Milwaukee. Activities
included a dumpling making, name in Chinese, a calligraphy demonstration,
and the book signing by the authors of "Chinese Milwaukee", David
Holmes and Wenbin Yuan.
