MMCS / MCCC Newsletter (January, 2009)
On behalf of Milwaukee Chinese Community Center
(MCCC) and Milwaukee
Modern Chinese School (MMCS), the MCCC Administration wishes you
a productive and peaceful new year!
Looking back at 2008, we do have
plenty unforgettable memories as a community.
- We planned and organized the
first ever Chinese New Year at the Domes event;
- We established a home in
Vogel Park – thanks to Milwaukee County Parks!
- We offered our support to
the victims of Sichuan earthquake through donation drive and benefit concert;
- We formed five committees to
better serve our members and community through Chinese language education,
culture outreach, and social engagement;
- We had a historical
performance at 2008 Holiday Folk Fair;
- We further improved our
relationship with Marquette University for the MMCS!
Looking into 2009, we would like to continue our
commitment to serve members and community through Chinese language education,
culture outreach, and social engagement. As for our New Year resolution, we
hope to be able to make some progress in the following area, and we need YOUR
support in doing so:
- Continue serving our
community through our five committees
- Start parents activity club
during MMCS time
- Host mid-autumn performance
via our Song and Dance troupe
- Double recipients of our
email mailing group
- Continue and spread summer
education program
- Plan and establish Milwaukee
Chinese Community Center Foundation
We will not be able to achieve any of these
objectives without our members.
As an all-volunteer organization, we are
strong because we are together.
For this reason, we would highly encourage and plea
for your continuous support and, more importantly, your direct involvement!
Please contact any of the following individuals if you feel the urge and desire
to do something or anything for our community. No help is too small!
Have a happy and prosperous 2009!
