The Milwaukee Chinese Community Center (MCCC) and Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes) welcome you to our annual Chinese New Year celebration at the Domes!
Event Highlights:
- Kids will receive red envelope (hongbao) when entering the front door of the Domes. Red envelope is a Chinese tradition during the New Year.
- The Domes will be beautifully decorated with lanterns, ribbons, and calligraphic greetings and also feature festive holiday lights and lanterns.
- A wide range of activities are there for all ages to enjoy, including Chinese New Year craft, Chinese yo-yo, dragon parade, lion dance, Chinese dance, gongfu (Taijiquan) and Chinese folk music .
- The Floral Show Dome and the Education Center will showcase Chinese New Year culture through a demo of the ancient board game GO, hands-on experiences of creating Chinese craft and dumplings (
 ), playing yo-yo, and participating in the dragon parade.
- Booths or tables will also be set up in the hallways to display Chinese traditional art, calligraphy, food, and goods. Visitors can purchase what they like and have delicious Chinese cuisine for lunch and dinner.
- Authentic Chinese treats, including traditional dietetic customs for New Year celebration, will be available for purchase.
- Feature performances will be staged in the hallways throughout the day for visitors.
