Celebrate Chinese New Year at the Domes chun

The Milwaukee Chinese Community Center (MCCC) and Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes) welcome you to our annual Chinese New Year celebration!
Through this yearly event, we hope the public will have a better understanding for Chinese culture and ethnic diversity in the Greater Milwaukee area.


Event Highlights:
  • The Domes will be covered with lanterns, ribbons, and calligraphic greetings. The Tropical Dome will feature festive holiday lights and lanterns. 

  • Enjoy an array of activities for all ages including Chinese New Year crafts, Chinese YoYos, a Dragon parade, Chinese dance and Kung Fu!

  • The Floral Show Dome and the Education Center will showcase Chinese New Year culture through GO game demo, show-and-tell, and some hands-on experiences (especially for children) such as dumpling making 饺子 – a must have item for Chinese New Year.

  • Booths or tables will also be set up in the hallways to provide visitors an opportunity to shop for Chinese traditional goods, especially for the occasion of Chinese New Year.

  • Authentic Chinese treats, including traditional dietetic customs for New Year celebration, will be available for purchase.

  • The Arid Dome will be filled with live Chinese folk music, and numerous Chinese art, crafts, and calligraphy. 

  • Feature performances will be staged in the hallways throughout the day for visitors. Booths and tables will also be set up to provide visitors an opportunity to shop for Chinese traditional goods and foods.
